A partnership from the earlier stage of design
Piguet Frères runs its own office of development and positions itself like a privileged partner of its customers, from the early stage of design. Its constant challenge is to create a relation of confidence while bringing on its side the thorough knowledge of forty collaborators in microtechnic, difficult assembly and hard material machining. To control the follow-up of more than 1500 different components which circulate permanently in the workshops, Piguet Frères equipped itself with a powerful CAM. It lays out in addition of excellent data-processing tools (CAO/FAO).

Machining of difficult and ultra-hard materials
Specialized in the machining of difficult and hardened materials, the company has modern and powerful machine facilities, among others: 6 x 5-axis machines (1.3 G of axe's acceleration!). Piguet Frères is able to machine metals (titanium, medical stainless steel, Arcap, tungsten...), plastics with high characteristics (Peek, Kel'F, Delrin...), as well as ultra-hard materials: corundum (ruby, sapphire...), ceramics (alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride...) and carbides (tungsten carbides...), whose high characteristics are often essential. It also has a great experience in the correction and the cylindrical or plane polishing of these ultra-hard materials.

Assembly and control of subsets
Authentic development pole, the manufacture, the assembly and the control of microtechnical subsets involve Piguet Frères in many projects : range of ultrasonic scanning probes, cerebrospinal fluid pressure regulation valves, equipment for ophthalmology, electrodes for oil prospecting, components for wiring with optical fibre...
Apparently unrelated application areas include in fact functional features that may be the nucleus of other customer-specific developments.
